Aim & Motto

Aim of NCC

The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces. To cultivate character, comradely, discipline, leadership, and selfless service in youth, preparing them to serve the nation in various capacities.

Motto of NCC

The need for having motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11 Aug 1978. The mottos suggested were “Duty and Discipline”; “Duty, Unity and Discipline”; “Duty and Unity”; “Unity and Discipline”. The final decision for selection of “Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12 Oct 1980. “Unity and Discipline” – adopted by NCC at the 12th Central Advisory Committee meeting on 12 October 1980.

Naval Wing

Naval Wing of NCC at Gogate Jogalekar College is affiliated with 2 MAH Naval Unit, NCC Ratnagiri, part of the Maharashtra Directorate. This wing proudly  supports and develops leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility among young students.

Unique Features of  NAVAL NCC Department:

  • A separate 50  SW Cadet’s troop.
  • SW NAVAL troop was Affiliated to 6 GIRLS BN NCC, KOLHAPUR AND TRAINED BY 2MNU, RATNAGIRI MAH up-to
  • From Aug. 2019 it is affiliated to 2 MNU, RATNAGIRI.
  • Cadets particiation in International Youth Exchange Program.

  • Excellent track record awards in the event Ship Modeling.

Training & Activities:

General NCC Naval Training Includes:

  • Sea Training: Juniors learn seamanship, navigation, communication, damage control, ship safety, and gunnery.
  • Adventure & Water Skills: Swimming, scuba diving, boat pulling, wind surfing, and ship-modeling.
  • Competitions & Skills: Ship-modeling, range firing, semaphore signaling, drills, and other naval-themed competitions.
  • SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
    1. Tree plantation
    2. Blood donation
    3. Road safety awareness rally

Signature Camps:

        • Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC): 10-day immersive camp featuring naval drills like boat rowing, semaphore training, dogwatch duties, survival skills, and .22-caliber firing exposure.
        • MENU CAMP

National and International Opportunities:

        • Youth Exchange Programme (YEP): Selected cadets may visit friendly countries and engage in cultural exchanges.
        • Overseas Deployment: A select few senior cadets join the Indian Navy’s 1st Training Squadron for 30–45 days of practical seamanship training and goodwill missions.
        • Other prominent camps: Ranges from National Integration camps,  Nau Sainik Camp, to Republic Day Camp (RDC), where cadets participate in prestigious drill and cultural competitions.

Benefits for Cadets

        • Experience real ship handling and model ship construction.
        • Access to adventure sports and training—such as trekking, mountaineering, and scuba divingthrough NCC’s  structured program.
        • Priority in recruitment: ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate holders receive preference for defense-related jobs; some may directly enter Officer’s Training Academy without written exams.

Campus Highlights & NCC Presence

        1. Cadetsfrom GogateJogalekar often contribute activities like essays, presentations, and community programs to India’s NCC Cadet’s Corner platform.
        2. The unit actively participates in National celebrations—like AzadiKa Amrit  Mahotsav, working alongside Indian Coast Guard officers to commemorate India’s achievements.

Recent expedition include a 127 Nautical mile sailing Expedition or also known as Most Enterprising Naval Unit (MENU) along the konkan coastline, reinforcing the regional rich maritime heritage .
