Film Club

Gogate-Joglekar College’s Film Society was founded in 2007 under the guidance of then coordinator Prof. Prabhakar Ketkar. Affiliated with the Federation of Film Societies of India, the society received enthusiastic support from the then Principal, the late Prof. Subhash Dev, who served as its first President. Alumna Ms. Supriya Chitrav also played a key role in advancing the movement.

The society was formally inaugurated on 26th August 2007 by renowned actors Jayshree Gadkar and Bal Dhuri. In its founding year, the club had 119 student members. Today, in 2025, the number has grown to 440.

During its first year, the club screened films such as Children of the Heaven, Doghi, Devrai, Gandhi My Father, Postman in the Mountains, Bhuvan Shome, and Yesterday. Currently, world-class films with Marathi subtitles are shared with students every Saturday via a dedicated WhatsApp group. An annual Film Appreciation Workshop is also conducted.

So far, the club has organized workshops featuring well-known film critics, writers, and directors such as Ashok Rane, Suhas Kirloskar, and Santosh Pathare. Students are also taken to watch selected films at City Pride Cinema, where they have opportunities to interact with actors, scriptwriters, and directors.

GJC Film Club is one of the most prominent extracurricular initiatives of the college, enriching students’ educational journeys through cinema and cultural engagement.

सहकार अहवाल (१ जानेवारी २०२५ ते ३१ डिसेंबर २०२५)

२ जानेवारी २०२५ – रत्नागिरी एज्युकेशन सोसायटीच्या गोदुताई जांभेकर विद्यालयास १०० वर्ष पूर्ण झाली म्हणून चित्ररथ आणि शोभायात्रा काढली गेली. यात ५२ GJC फिल्म क्लबचे विद्यार्थी निळ्या रंगाच्या वेषात सहभागी झाले.

२२ व २३ जानेवारी २०२५ – The Pursuit of Happyness या चित्रपटाचे स्क्रीनिग करण्यात आले.

७ फेब्रुवारी २०२५ – सकाळी दहा ते बारा या वेळेत सिटी प्राईड सिनेमा येथे शर्मिला टागोर आणि मोहन आगाशे यांच्या आऊट हाऊस या चित्रपटाचे स्क्रीनिग करण्यात आले. स्वत: डॉ. मोहन आगाशे यावेळी उपस्थित होते. त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांशी संवाद साधला.

२२ फेब्रुवारी २०२५ – Hachi- A Dog’s Tale या चित्रपटाचे स्क्रीनिग करण्यात आले.

२२ फेब्रुवारी २०२५ – चतुरंग प्रतिष्ठान आयोजित ‘व्हायफळ स्पेशल सुतारफेणी’ या योगेश रिसबूड यांच्या एकपात्री कार्यक्रमास ५२ GJC फिल्म क्लबच्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी हजेरी दर्शविली. हा कार्यक्रम सायंकाळी ६.१५ वाजता होता.

२७ जून २०२५ – २०२५-२०२६ या शैक्षणिक वर्षात फिल्म क्लबच्या एकूण २४६ विद्यार्थ्यांनी सहभाग घेतला.
प्रथम सत्र मध्ये दर शनिवारी एक जागतिक दर्जाच्या चित्रपटाची लिंक विद्यार्थ्यांना पाठवण्यात आली. असे एकूण बारा चित्रपट प्रथम सत्र मध्ये विद्यार्थ्यांना पाहण्यासाठी उपलब्ध करण्यात आले. विद्यार्थ्यांनी यापैकी दोन चित्रपटांवर परीक्षण लिहून आपल्या समन्वयकांकडे जमा केले.

२ ऑगस्ट आणि ३ ऑगस्ट २०२५ -फिल्म क्लबचे यावर्षीचे उद्घाटन ज. शं. केळकर सेमिनार हॉलमध्ये पार पडले. यावेळी विद्यार्थ्यांना ‘नील बटे सन्नाटा’. हा चित्रपट दाखवण्यात आला.

२३ ऑगस्ट २०२५ – दिग्दर्शक शाम बेनेगल यांच्यावर पुस्तक लिहिणाऱ्या लेखिका डॉ.सविता नायक यांच्याशी थेट संवाद साधण्याची संधी काही निवडक विद्यार्थ्यांना मिळाली. ‘ श्याम बेनेगल – एक व्यक्ती .. एक दिग्दर्शक’ या पुस्तकाची एक प्रत GJC फिल्म क्लबच्या वाचनालयासाठी घेण्यात आली.

१९ आणि २० सप्टेंबर २०२५ – चित्रपट रसास्वाद कार्यशाळा महाविद्यालयाच्या सेमिनार हॉलमध्ये आयोजित करण्यात आली होती. डॉ. संतोष पाठारे हे या कार्यशाळेसाठी साधनव्यक्ती म्हणून लाभले होते. या कार्यशाळेत ६७ विद्यार्थ्यांनी सहभाग नोंदवला.

२१ सप्टेंबर २०२५ – सिटी प्राईड मल्टिप्लेक्स येथे दिनांक रोजी विद्यार्थ्यांना ‘ कुर्ला ते वेंगुर्ला’ हा चित्रपट दाखवण्यात आला. या चित्रपटातील कलाकारांना भेटण्याची संधी विद्यार्थ्यांना मिळाली.
