An in-house software competition, Phoenix was organized by the department of Computer Science on August 12, 2017. The competition is organized by the department, every year, with the objective to inculcate and improve among the students skills related to programming and presentation. This has been the 8th successive year of this completion.
The competition was inaugurated and judged by Mr. Suraj Sokasane, who works as a Team Leader at Harbinger Group, Pune. Vice Principal of Science faculty, Dr. M.G. Gore chaired the inaugural function.
There were three categories according to the First year, Second year and Third year students, viz. ‘Search Phoenix’, ‘Code Phoenix’ and ‘Web Phoenix’ respectively. The team of Mr. Satyan Mumbarkar and Bhupesh Lad won the competition under category ‘Search Phoenix’. Their topic was Linux OS. Miss Shreeya Rajadhyaksh who worked on the topic Hangman game, won in the category ‘Code Phoenix’. Under category ‘Web Phoenix’, Miss Sayali Marathe with her topic ‘Konkan Meva’ secured the first position. Even the research ideas for the competition were appreciated and Mr. Geo Marian was awarded for his research concept and research writing under the categories ‘Research Concept Phoenix’ and ‘Research Writer Phoenix’. All the winners were awarded with trophies and certificates.
