Establishment / mile stones

The University of Mumbai launched the Bachelor of Management Studies or BMS programme from the academic year of 1999-2000.
Bachelor of Management Studies or BMS is a full-time course of three year duration.
This full time three year degree programme has been introduced in several institutes of the country. This degree programme comprises six semesters having 52 modules, 51 theory papers and 01 project.
The Bachelor of Management Studies was introduced with the aim of producing trained management professionals in today`s competitive market.
The course curriculum has been practically designed in order to meet the increasing demand for more number of professionally certified management executives in the global market.
This degree programme is handled by experienced full-time as well as visiting faculty pulled from various service and industrial sectors.
The course structure of Bachelor of Management Studies or BMS includes an exhaustive training with the help of latest technological devices, industrial visits, and practical experience and summer placements wherever possible.
Academic year 2015-16 Mumbai University have introduced specialization in Finance, Marketing and Human Resource from Second Year.

25th Feb 2023– Management Meet “INSIGNIA” organized by Rosary College, Goa. Students from FYBMS and SYBMs participated in it. Number of students – 8.

On 9th Jan to 11th Jan 2023 Industrial visit at Vishal Fab, Indore. (Two Units were visited) Total 65 students get practical knowledge of Industrial working.

On 10th Feb to 11th Feb 2023 Industrial visit at Polynova Industries, Goa. Total 58 students visited.

16th Feb 2023– Department celebrates Management Day by organizing different management competitions on the same day with the name of “INVICTUS”. College level Creative advertisement making competition, Essay competition, Business plan competition, and IPL Auction events were organized by BMS department where Arts, Science, Commerce (UG and PG), BAF students participated. Students from M.com won the championship.

Objectives

Objectives
The basic objective of this course is to develop an understanding about the consumer decision making process and its applications in marketing function of firms
This course is meant to equip undergraduate students with basic knowledge about issues and dimensions of Consumer Behavior. Students are expected to develop the skill of understanding and analyzing consumer information and using it to create consumer- oriented marketing strategies.

Objectives
Entrepreneurship is one of the major focus areas of the discipline of Management. This course introduces Entrepreneurship to budding managers.
To develop entrepreneurs &to prepare students to take the responsibility of full line of management function of a company with special reference to SME sector.
